This poem is inspired by my blog post ‘Transform Your Eating Habits: The Power of Mindful Eating‘. You can find the full post here:

In a world that spins so fast,
We eat as though each meal’s our last.
Scrolling, rushing, bite by bite,
Missing taste, and missing sight.
But what if food was not a race—
A time to pause, a sacred space?
To feel the warmth, to smell, to chew,
To honor all that nourishes you.
One mindful bite, a deeper breath,
A quiet path to health and depth.
No counting carbs or rules to fear,
Just listening close to what feels clear.
Is this hunger? Or just mood?
What are you truly seeking through food?
Comfort, calm, a way to cope?
Or simply space to rest and hope?
Savor each flavor, texture, tone,
Let every bite feel fully known.
Gratitude with every taste,
No rush, no guilt, no mindless waste.
Tune into fullness, slow the pace,
Let presence take distraction’s place.
Your body speaks, just listen near—
It knows what it needs to feel good here.
And if you slip? That’s still okay.
You start again, with your next tray.
Eating well is not a race—
It’s self-respect, it’s grounded grace.
So take a breath, release the speed,
Let every bite be what you need.
For mindful meals, both kind and true,
Will slowly build a healthier you.
