This poem is inspired by my blog post ‘The Psychology of Hatred: Why We Hate and How to Change Poem‘. You can find the full post here:

Hatred burns, a fire untamed,
A heavy chain, a soul inflamed.
It whispers lies, divides, destroys,
It steals our peace, it drowns our joys.
It feeds on fear, on wounds not healed,
On pride and pain we’ve never revealed.
It thrives in shadows, grows in shame,
Yet leaves us broken, not the same.
But hatred is not who we are—
We’re built for love, it is our star.
Through empathy, the walls can fall,
Through kindness, healing finds us all.
Forgiveness is the key we hold,
Not to excuse, but to unfold.
A lighter heart, a gentler way,
A brighter dawn, a softer day.
So choose to let the burden go,
To plant the seeds of peace we sow.
For hate consumes, but love restores,
And opens wide a thousand doors.
